i want to preface this by saying that j-lux and i get a lot of shit from other people when in public, both individually and when we are together. last night we were walking home from a super fun open mic filled with hot babes, when i noticed a large group of macho presenting dudes walking towards us. j-lux could feel me tense up and grabbed for my hand. with a few other queers, we walked towards them with our heads held high and our hands intertwined up the middle of the sidewalk. i was definitely expecting some shit to go down, and so i made sure to look all of them in the eye, but as we got close to them they all scattered and tried to get out of our way really fast, like they were scared of us. i couldn’t help but laugh out loud as it was happening, because i’ve certainly been queer bashed before, but in that moment having a big fat bawdy felt so fucking dangerous and powerful. i savoured that sweet moment of revenge and for a moment felt invincible as we moved through the dark towards the safety of our evil lair.
